The ICDSF (International Conference of Data Science in Finance) is the annual conference hosted by the Academy of Data Science in Finance in cooperation with WU Vienna and our industry partners. The conference aims to bring academics and finance professionals together to discuss all applications of contemporary Data Science approaches to the area of Finance. These topics include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Sentiment Analysis and Prescriptive Analytics.
Click here to find out more about our exciting first ICDSF in 2018 as well as the second ICDSF in 2019! Due to the Covid-19 pandemics there was no conference held in 2020 as well as in 2021. We successfully concluded our series in 2022 - read all about it here!
Our 2023 special: In 2023 our conference teams up with Raiffeisen Bank International to organize the ESG Data Analytics Forum!
This conference has been created to demystify the buzz around Artificial Intelligence (AI) and to focus on reality instead of hype. The collaboration of academic practicioners and practical academics will show how everyone in the Finance Industry can benefit from the unprecedented progress in Data Science technologies.
Starting in 2022 we focus on Sustainability as well as ESG in Finance especially in regard to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to counter the qualitative and pseudo-quantitative greenwashing currently observable in the Finance industry.
The Event. Together with academic representatives from WU Vienna, Raiffeisen Research (part of RBI - Raiffeisen Bank International) has organized the ESG Data Analytics Forum annually since 2021. The forum primarily serves as a knowledge exchange platform between industry representatives from finance and academia in the field of ESG and Sustainable Finance with a focus on quantitative/analytical models. Usually there are two sessions - one on Banking (incl. Bonds) and one on Investing (Equities, Multi-asset).
Organizers. The event is organized jointly by the Academy of Data Science in Finance (https://dsf.academy) - a non-profit initiative run by (former) academic experts of WU Vienna - and Raiffeisen Research (https://www.raiffeisenresearch.com/) - a leading research boutique focused on CEE, Austria and the euro area offering local market expertise plus contact to well-established experts on the ground in the region with a growing ESG-Focus.
Audience. The audience of the event will be mixed, from academics to professionals from banking and finance, from start-ups to large universal banks. The event type is hybrid, i.e, we aim for a large on-site presence of up to 200 participants but since one of the main sponsors is also RBI itself, the event will also be available as a live stream in the whole RBI Group, i.e., also within our Network Banks, Verbundunternehmen and Raiffeisen Sektor Austria.
In 2022, around 250 people watched the stream online. In 2023 we potentially open access to the stream to institutional clients of Raiffeisen Research.
We are currently preparing the final program. Please find the list of confirmed speakers below. Further content will be added eventually.
Talks are scheduled from 9am to 6pm. Dinner (tickets separately available, limited capacity) starts at 7pm.
